SINGAPORE: During the People’s Action Party’s (PAP) manifesto launch, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong introduced the party’s slate of 116 candidates, which included familiar faces and newcomers. Observers noted three individuals, including Mr. Ahmad Firdaus Daud and Mr. Mustaffa Kamal, who were not officially introduced but are expected to be backup candidates for the upcoming elections. Both confirmed their readiness to stand as candidates, highlighting their roles within the party and community engagement.

Mr. Firdaus, a senior counsel and PAP member since 2016, expressed his readiness to work if selected on Nomination Day, while Mr. Mustaffa, a newer member, has also been active in community service. Both are included on the Elections Department’s prospective candidates list for the General Election, which has new regulations against misrepresentation of candidates in digital media.
