Israel’s prolonged war on Gaza has devastated the region’s healthcare system, with over 1,700 healthcare workers killed and hospitals targeted. Medical students, like Eman Eyad, are stepping in to provide care amidst severe shortages, gaining hands-on experience in dire conditions. Despite personal losses, healthcare personnel remain committed to their roles, exemplified by nurse Islam Abu Assar, who continues to work at al-Shifa Hospital despite family tragedies. The UN has accused Israel of intentionally attacking medical facilities to dismantle Gaza’s health infrastructure.
