Gaza rescuers say 42 killed in Israeli strikes

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Friday resulted in at least 42 deaths, marking a resumption of military operations after a ceasefire collapsed on March 18. Among the casualties were nine individuals killed in Bureij refugee camp, along with strikes in Beit Lahia and Gaza City that claimed additional lives. Since the renewed campaign began, the Hamas-run health ministry has reported a total of 2,326 fatalities in Gaza, contributing to an overall death toll exceeding 52,000 since the conflict escalated after Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
