Since Israel started returning Palestinian bodies to Gaza, Hanaa has been searching hospitals and reception points for any information on her son’s fate. The latest batch of bodies arrived on February 4, released under a US-brokered ceasefire deal. Hanaa has also been checking lists of released prisoners, but so far, there has been no definitive answer about Omar. The uncertainty and lack of closure are causing immense pain to Hanaa and other families in Gaza still searching for their missing loved ones.
