The director of Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hussam Abu Safia, was detained by the Israeli army and subjected to torture and inhumane treatment in military prison, including being beaten and denied medical care for his heart condition. Held in solitary confinement for 25 days, he was interrogated nonstop and forced to confess to false charges. Despite the lack of evidence, his arrest was unjustified, and he was denied access to legal counsel during his 47 days in arbitrary detention.
