Israeli attacks at aid distribution sites sending increased number of casualties to hospitals says ICRC.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has warned that Gaza’s healthcare system is “extremely fragile” due to ongoing Israeli attacks, leading to increased casualties and urgent calls for the protection of medical facilities. In recent weeks, the Red Cross Hospital in Rafah has activated its mass casualty procedures multiple times, primarily treating patients injured while attempting to access aid distribution sites, resulting in at least 125 deaths and over 700 injuries. The ICRC emphasizes the need for immediate action to safeguard healthcare infrastructure, as the intensifying conflict further jeopardizes the already limited medical resources available in the enclave.
