Gardaí investigating after prisoner at Cloverhill dies following altercation – The Irish Times

Gardaí are investigating the death of a prisoner in his 40s at Cloverhill Prison following an altercation this morning. The man, who was on remand for alleged drugs and firearms offenses, died in violent circumstances shortly before 5.30am despite receiving emergency treatment. Prison authorities and emergency services were alerted to the incident, with Gardaí in Ronanstown now looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.
