Gardaí in north Cork disrupted a major drugs supply line with the seizure of €170,000 worth of cocaine and the arrest of a 35-year-old man in a planned operation. The Cork County Divisional Drug Unit, along with local officers from Fermoy and Mitchelstown, stopped and searched a car in Mitchelstown, finding almost 2.5kg of cocaine. The driver, the sole occupant of the car, was arrested, leading to a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking in the area.
