A new six-month experiment involving 17 UK companies and over 1,000 employees has launched to test the impact of a shorter working week on productivity. The second phase of the 4 Day Week Campaign includes businesses like Crate brewery and the British Society for Immunology, with employees working four days a week while maintaining full salaries. Following a successful trial in 2022, where most participants chose to adopt reduced hours permanently, the campaign aims to collect data on morale, productivity, and burnout rates to present to the government next summer with support from researchers at Cambridge University and the Autonomy Institute.
