Four Britons have died after contracting severe gastric illnesses while on holiday in Cape Verde, with law firm Irwin Mitchell investigating their deaths along with two others who died since January 2023. Over 1,500 people have fallen ill after visiting Cape Verde, with victims’ families making personal injury claims against Tui. The firm is calling for improved hygiene standards, while Tui is investigating the claims and ensuring appropriate care for ill customers during their stay.
