Four Arrested in Louvre Heist, Says Paris Prosecutor

Four more individuals were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the October 19 heist at the Louvre, bringing the total to eight charged in the case. The thieves, using power tools and a crane, stole royal jewels valued at approximately $102 million in a seven-minute operation as the museum opened. Notable items taken include pieces from the collections of Empress Eugénie and Queen Marie-Amélie. The Louvre had been urged to modernize its security systems, a process delayed until 2032.
