Rudy Giuliani expressed profound grief over the death of his close friend and former NYPD Commissioner Bernard “Bernie” Kerik, who passed away at 69 after battling illness. The two shared a deep bond, especially after their pivotal roles during the September 11 attacks, where they supported each other amid chaos. Giuliani praised Kerik’s extensive law enforcement career and leadership, acknowledging his significant contributions to reducing crime and violence, while also reflecting on Kerik’s complicated legacy, including a prison sentence for felonies before receiving a presidential pardon in 2020.
