Ford Motor Co. is recalling 422,613 vehicles due to a potential failure of the windshield wipers, which could impair driver visibility and elevate the risk of accidents. The recall impacts the 2021-2023 Lincoln Navigator and Expedition models, along with various F-Series trucks, including the F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 from the 2022-2023 model years. Affected vehicle owners will receive notification letters on April 13, 2026, detailing the issue and safety risks associated with it. Ford will provide free wiper replacements at dealerships for those affected. The recall has been assigned the number 26S24.

Why It Matters

This recall underscores the importance of vehicle safety and the potential consequences of equipment failures. Windshield wipers are critical for maintaining visibility during adverse weather conditions, and their malfunction can lead to serious accidents. In recent years, vehicle recalls have become increasingly common as manufacturers strive to address safety issues proactively. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) plays a key role in overseeing these recalls, ensuring that manufacturers inform owners promptly about safety concerns and provide necessary repairs or replacements.
