Last week, a federal judge determined that Apple was in “willful violation” of an injunction against anticompetitive practices in its iOS App Store, part of the Epic Games lawsuit. In response, Apple stated it would comply with the injunction while appealing the decision, subsequently updating its App Review Guidelines to permit developers to use external links and calls to action for purchases. This change is already reflected in updates like the Kindle app, which now allows users to buy books directly within the app for the first time since its launch.
