David Earl Gipson, a 40-year-old Florida man, was arrested after a woman he allegedly assaulted escaped from a storage container where he had held her. The victim, severely beaten and bound, reported that Gipson attacked her at her home, used her mother-in-law’s vehicle to transport her to his residence, and continued the abuse before confining her. The sheriff’s office is also pursuing murder charges against Gipson following the discovery of the victim’s mother-in-law, 74-year-old Lettie Cooper Collins, who was found beaten to death in her home.
