Florida Designates CAIR as a Terror Organization

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has designated the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a “foreign terrorist organization,” a move CAIR has condemned as “unconstitutional” and “defamatory.” This declaration follows a similar action by Texas and includes restrictions on funding and contracts for CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood, which DeSantis claims is linked to Hamas. CAIR plans to sue, accusing the governor of prioritizing foreign interests over Floridians. Founded in 1994, CAIR advocates for Muslim civil rights and has 25 chapters nationwide.
