Execution Scheduled in Florida
A man convicted of stabbing Tressa Pettibone to death during a home invasion robbery over 30 years ago, Mark Allen Geralds, is set to be executed in Florida on Tuesday evening. Geralds, 58, was sentenced to death in 1990 and resentenced in 1992 after the Florida Supreme Court affirmed his conviction. His execution will mark Florida’s 18th this year, breaking the state’s record for executions in a single year. Geralds has declined further appeals, and another execution is anticipated next week.
