A boy with autism, 6, named Coco, was rescued from a pond on Christmas Day by Florida police, known for being attracted to water and nonverbal. This incident occurred less than 18 months after a previous incident where Coco, then 5, was found in a pond by Deputy Wes Brough. Following the first incident, Coco started swimming lessons and authorities advised using multiple safety measures for children with special needs. The sheriff’s office expressed relief at Coco’s safe return home.
