Authorities are currently investigating an incident in Fresno where plastic bags filled with fliers containing hate messages and conspiracy theories were thrown onto residential driveways on Friday morning.
Residents in a suburban neighborhood discovered the bags and promptly alerted the Fresno Police Department. Police conducted a search of the neighborhood to remove any additional fliers and to check for any homes or businesses with potentially useful video surveillance footage.
The fliers that were found do not contain any direct threats to the community members, but rather consist of general hate propaganda and unfounded conspiracy theories.
The department stated that they are treating this as a hate incident and are actively investigating the matter.
Although the contents of the fliers were not disclosed by the police, The Fresno Bee reported that they contained antisemitic, homophobic, and misogynistic content.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident as California has seen an increase in the distribution of hate-filled and antisemitic fliers in various communities over the recent years, including Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Redlands, and Orange County.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000.
