Flags to fly half-staff for Jimmy Carter – NBC Chicago

In honor of former President Jimmy Carter’s death on Dec 29, 2024, the American flag will be flown at half-staff at all federal buildings until January 28, 2025. This tradition, observed for 30 days following a president’s passing, signifies nationwide mourning and respect for the deceased leader.
