First Arafura class offshore patrol vessel to be commissioned in Fremantle on Saturday

The first of six patrol boats, NUSHIP Arafura, will be officially commissioned as HMAS Arafura on Saturday in Fremantle, attended by Defence Minister Matt Keogh and Chief of Navy Vice-Admiral Mark Hammond. Designed for maritime border patrol and built in South Australia, the ship is set for trials through 2025 and full operations by early 2026.
