Fifteen fire trucks and two support vehicles are battling a large blaze at an industrial building on McGee Street in Ōtāhuhu, next to train tracks, leading to train suspensions between Ōtāhuhu and Middlemore. Fire and Emergency responded to the fire at 3.20pm on Friday, with crews from seven different stations, including two ladder trucks, working to contain the well-alight fire and advising nearby residents and businesses to close their doors and windows due to the smoke.

Bed Bath and Beyond has been fined $230,000 for selling non-compliant children's pyjamas and hot water bottles, breaching the Fair Trading Act. The retailer failed to include required safety information, such as detailed instructions for hot water bottle use and permanent warning labels on pyjamas.
