Fire breaks out on US naval ship off Japan’s Okinawa

A fire has erupted on the US naval ship New Orleans off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, with no reported injuries, according to the Japan Coast Guard. Japan’s Self-Defence Forces are assisting in firefighting efforts, and one of the Coast Guard’s ships is also preparing to help, with no oil leaks detected in the surrounding waters.
