Fire breaks out in Kolkata slum, one dead

In Kolkata, a fire broke out in the Narkeldanga area, destroying 30 shanties and leaving around 200 people homeless. One person, Habibullah Mollah, died in the blaze. Municipal officials, including Minister Firhad Hakim, visited the site to provide temporary accommodation, financial assistance, and compensation to the affected families, while tensions arose between slum dwellers and local councillor Sachin Singh over alleged illegal activities in the area.
