Field hospitals have been set up in North Carolina by health care companies and nonprofits to treat residents injured by Hurricane Helene, including one by Samaritan’s Purse near Newland and Linville. Despite being fully equipped, few patients had arrived at the hospital on Friday. This aid organization, founded by Franklin Graham, is located 140 miles west of Greensboro and is prepared to provide care to those in need.
