Auckland is bracing for severe weather, including marble-sized hail, small tornadoes, and heavy rain, as wild conditions hit the country during the first week of summer.
A heavy rain watch is in effect for 12 hours starting at 9 am, impacting Auckland and parts of Waikato.
Additionally, a strong wind watch will be active for 10 hours from 8 am in Northland and Auckland.
MetService warns of a moderate chance of thunderstorms throughout the day, accompanied by heavy rain, small hail, and potential tornadoes.
