Australians stranded in the Middle East due to flight cancellations and airspace closures are advised to rely on resumed commercial flights for their return home, according to the Government. Foreign Affairs Assistant Minister Matt Thistlethwaite emphasized that travelers should avoid canceling flights and stay in contact with airlines. Up to 115,000 Australians are currently in the region, with some receiving support from the UAE, which is facilitating limited flights and providing accommodation and meals.
