Over the Bank Holiday weekend, two individuals, a 28-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, died in Southall, London, after consuming pills believed to be ecstasy or oxycodone, which were later identified as nitazenes—synthetic opioids significantly stronger than heroin. Nightclubs have issued warnings about these blue-green pills marked with ’80’ and ‘OP,’ urging patrons to avoid them and seek medical help if feeling unwell. Ealing Council emphasized the dangers of illegal drugs, highlighting that their contents and effects are unpredictable.
