An ongoing recall of tomatoes from Williams Farms Repack LLC in the US has been elevated to a Class I status by the FDA due to a potential salmonella contamination, posing a serious health risk, including a reasonable probability of death. Initially recalled on April 30, the affected tomatoes were distributed to Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with specific lot numbers R4467 and R4470. Consumers are advised to refrain from consuming the tomatoes and return them for a full refund or dispose of them safely.
