Jason Davies, a 56-year-old father from Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, became paralyzed from the neck down after falling over a 3-foot garden wall during his daughter Rio’s 21st birthday party. The fall occurred the day after his mother’s death, and he waited four hours for an ambulance before spending 10 weeks in the hospital. While he initially felt no pain, he is now regaining some movement and has begun rehabilitation at Llandough Hospital. A fundraiser has been set up by a colleague to help modify his home for recovery.
