A British former soldier, James Scott Rhys Anderson, has been captured by Russian forces while fighting for Ukraine in Kursk, as confirmed by his family. Despite their pleas, the 22-year-old joined up eight months ago, believing it was the right thing to do. In a video released by his captors, Anderson described his decision to fight in Ukraine as a ‘stupid idea’ after losing his job and joining the International Legion. The Foreign Office is providing support to his family, as they fear he may be tortured like previous British detainees in Ukraine.
