Florida A&M’s hopes for a SWAC Baseball Championship suffered a significant blow as ace pitcher Caleb Grainger has been ruled out for the season due to a throwing arm injury requiring surgery. Grainger, a preseason All-American with a 2.31 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 2024, had been absent since April 4, impacting the team’s performance, particularly in crucial matchups. As FAMU sits second in the SWAC with an 18-6 record, they must rely on younger pitchers to fill the void left by Grainger, as fans remain hopeful for the team’s resilience moving forward.
