Christine Kuehn, after years of hiding her family’s history, wrote a book about her grandfather Otto, who was tried for spying for the Japanese during World War II. Despite her father’s attempts to shield her from this past, a letter in 1994 revealed their connection to a Nazi espionage family. Otto and his relatives, including Aunt Ruth, who had ties to Goebbels, spied on U.S. military activities in Hawaii. Their actions were closely monitored by the FBI, especially leading up to the Pearl Harbor attack.
