The family of German national Fabian Schmidt alleges he was subjected to a violent interrogation, stripping, and a cold shower while detained at Boston Logan International Airport by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Schmidt, a green card holder with over two decades of residency in the U.S., was detained after returning from Luxembourg due to a missed hearing notice. Despite denial of the allegations by CBP, Schmidt was hospitalized and later transferred to a detention facility in Rhode Island, sparking concerns about immigration enforcement practices and mistreatment of detainees.
