A drunk asylum seeker, Haybe Cabdiraxmaan Nur, fatally stabbed Gurvinder Singh Johal, a 37-year-old restaurant owner, in a Derby bank while Johal was on a video call. Nur, who had entered the UK illegally and had been refused asylum, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years, having admitted to the murder during his trial.
