Astronomers, led by Terry Long Phan from National Tsing Hua University, may have identified a strong candidate for the elusive Planet Nine, an object more massive than Neptune located about 700 times farther from the sun than Earth. By analyzing data from the IRAS and AKARI infrared surveys, they found an object that moved between the two surveys, potentially indicating its orbit around the sun. Although it has not yet been confirmed as Planet Nine, further observations with large optical telescopes are needed to track its updated position and determine its nature.
