Eva Lys, a lucky loser, has advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open after seizing the opportunity to compete in the main draw as a late replacement. She defeated Kim Birrell, Varvara Gracheva, and Jaqueline Cristian to become the first lucky loser to reach the fourth round since 1988.
