EU parliament delegation starts a six-day visit to Taiwan

A panel of European Parliament members, led by MEP Michael Gahler, arrived in Taiwan for a six-day visit to hold discussions with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim and other officials, marking the first EU delegation to visit Taiwan since the recent European Parliament elections. The discussions are expected to cover Taiwan-EU economic relations, geopolitical issues, and opportunities for further cooperation, with the visit following a resolution passed by the European Parliament expressing opposition to China’s actions around Taiwan and its misinterpretation of U.N. Resolution 2758.
