EU Commission grants €404 million to support Greece and Slovenia’s recovery

The EU Commission granted over €404 million to Greece and Slovenia for recovery from the 2023 floods and Cyclone Daniel damages, with €328 million allocated to Slovenia for flood recovery and an additional €76 million to Greece for cyclone-related reconstruction. These funds come from the EU Solidarity Fund and are part of a total of €529 million in aid given to both countries. Slovenia experienced severe flooding in August 2023, while Greece was hit by Cyclone Daniel in September 2023, resulting in significant damage to infrastructure and homes.
