An effort to compel the Justice Department to release materials related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein gained momentum after House Speaker Mike Johnson delayed the swearing-in of newly elected Democrat Adelita Grijalva. The bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act, introduced by Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie, has garnered enough support through a discharge petition to force a House vote, despite opposition from GOP leaders. Grijalva’s signature allows the motion to advance, with a potential vote as early as December. The bill seeks to release documents related to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s cases, including flight logs and internal communications.
