Elon Musk's X faces criminal probe in France over algorithm manipulation concerns

French prosecutors have launched an investigation into Elon Musk’s X over allegations of algorithm manipulation on the social media platform, following a report from French lawmaker Eric Bothorel. The Paris public prosecutor’s office is examining X’s “biased algorithms” that may have distorted data processing, with the cybercrime section conducting technical checks. X, previously known as Twitter, has faced content moderation concerns since Musk’s acquisition, and the European Union is also investigating the platform for potential violations of the Digital Services Act.
