Tech billionaire Elon Musk has criticized the Australian government, calling them “fascists,” for proposed laws aimed at combating digital misinformation on social media platforms. The legislation could result in fines of up to 5% of annual revenue for companies that do not address misinformation risks. The laws have not yet been passed by parliament.
