Elise Mertens, returning to the No. 1 ranking in women’s doubles, partnered with China’s Zhang Shuai to win the Australian Open title, defeating Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic 7-6 (4), 6-4. The duo overcame an early deficit, leading the final set 5-0 despite a late comeback attempt from their opponents. This victory marks Mertens’ sixth Grand Slam doubles title and her 40th cumulative week at No. 1. The men’s doubles final featured Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski against Jason Kubler and Marc Polmans.
