Elderly woman dies, 22 hospitalised after fire in residential building in Ahmedabad

A fire broke out in a multi-storey residential building in Ahmedabad’s Bopal locality, resulting in the death of a 65-year-old woman and hospitalization of 22 others. The blaze started on the 8th floor of the Iskon Platina building, spreading to the 21st floor and prompting the evacuation of over 200 residents. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames caused by a suspected short-circuit, with one fatality and multiple injuries reported before the operation concluded early Saturday morning.
