Cat faeces were found piled and smeared throughout a rental home in Auckland, leading the landlord to vomit upon inspection. The tenant, Maria Tina Sheryl Aroha Wilson-Gage, left behind her three cats and has been ordered by the Tenancy Tribunal to pay $11,383 for cleaning and repairs to the Waiuku property. Adjudicator Toni Prowse noted that the landlord’s evidence clearly demonstrated the extent of the damage caused by the tenant’s negligence.
