Ed Martin Removed from DOJ’s Weaponization Working Group

Trump loyalist Ed Martin has stepped down as leader of the DOJ’s “weaponization” effort, which investigates prosecutors involved in cases against Trump and his allies. Although he is no longer heading the group, a DOJ spokesperson confirmed he continues to serve as pardon attorney. Martin previously led the “Weaponization Working Group” established under Attorney General Pam Bondi, focusing on cases related to the January 6 Capitol attack and other investigations. It is currently unclear who will lead the group following his departure.
