Sir Keir Starmer has challenged Britain’s top watchdogs and regulators, including those in the energy sector, to propose ideas for boosting investment and kickstarting economic growth. The prime minister, along with chancellor Rachel Reeves and business secretary Jonathan Reynolds, has written to over 10 regulators requesting pro-growth initiatives by mid-January. The directive, sent on Christmas Eve, aims to prioritize growth and investment in decision-making to revitalize the country’s economy.
