China has released the first-ever image of the near-Earth asteroid 469219 Kamo’oalewa, also known as 2016HO3, which has been described as Earth’s second moon. This unique space rock orbits the sun while maintaining a close trajectory to Earth, making it a ‘quasi-moon.’ Measuring approximately 100 meters in diameter, Kamo’oalewa is believed to be a fragment of the lunar surface, potentially offering insights into the early solar system.
