MediMap investigates hack that misreported patient deaths and altered names

The Prime Minister expressed concern following a second significant cyber attack on a medical platform, MediMap, which is widely used in New Zealand’s aged care and health sectors. The hack resulted in live patients being incorrectly labeled as deceased and some names altered to “Charlie Kirk.” This incident follows a prior breach of the Manage My Health system that compromised data for over 120,000 users during the New Year holiday.
