DreamWorks Animation is developing a sequel to The Wild Robot titled The Wild Robot Escapes, continuing the story of Roz, a robot stranded on an island. Directed by Troy Quane, known for co-directing Nimona, the sequel is based on the second book of Peter Brown’s trilogy. The original film, which grossed $320 million and received multiple award nominations, saw Roz forming bonds with animals while learning to survive. The release date for the sequel has yet to be announced.
